ELOMA 2019/2020 Business Partner Updates

ELOMA is pleased to welcome our Business Partners who have renewed their commitments for the 2019/2020 sponsorship year!  Our relationship with our Business Partners is very important to our ELOMA membership as we appreciate having the connections to resources and information that your organizations provide!  We recognize that our Business Partners invest financial resources into our organization and those contributions are very much appreciated!  We encourage our ELOMA membership to look to our Business Partners first when seeking out new purchases or when you need some guideance and information!

President's Message 2019

Welcome Message from the president

Thank you to the 2018/19 Executive for all of their efforts on behalf of our membership.  The Executive roles are a unique opportunity to gain insight to working as a dynamic team with a singular focus of providing service to a non-profit Board.  While the work is often fun, and you get to meet others and learn different perspectives, the work can often be demanding in time and energy.  Most of that time and energy is spent outside of work hours, and the Board's committment to ensure service to it's membership is something we should take a moment to appreciate and applaud the last Board for all of its efforts in continuing to develop ELOMA as a progressive Chapter of ALA.

For 2019/20 the ELOMA Executive has the goal of continuing to bring relevant education to our membership, along with many opportunities to network amongst each other.  We also desire to bring more members into the Association as new members will bring with them new experiences and viewpoints and continue the growth of our Chapter.  We will continue working with our existing Business Partners and continue to look for more sponsorship opportunities so we can bring awareness of services available to our membership at large.

Started in 2018 and continuing into April this year, we have undertaken a redesign and refresh of our website in an effort to provide dynamic and current content to our membership. We are looking into extensive education sessions for our 2019 Fall Retreat, and planning two Community Events and numerous social gatherings for our 2019/2020 session.

Each new Executive continues to build on the foundations left by the previous Board Members and through our efforts this year, we look forward to serving our membership and laying the foundation for the next Executive to continue to grow and develop the Edmonton Chapter.  As your current President, I welcome your comments and suggestions as to what you as members wish to see for the Edmonton Chapter.  I also encourage you to step up and join one of our numerous committee or event planning opportunities as while the Board can serve the membership, it is the involvement and participation of it's members that really generates a successful association, your association - ELOMA.
